Well, it seems that since it is about 20 days in counting it is time to share the very big leap of faith that Aaron, Lee, and I will be taking. Some of you are already aware of this and some of you, including some who are close to me IRL (“in real life”) may not be, I am sorry you heard this way.
As of December 22nd, Boston will no longer be home. We are officially moving to New Jersey! Aaron recently received a job offer in NYC so we are on our way down. We are extremely sad to leave Boston – we have such good friends and family here. Clearly there is my PT/Coach (who I refuse to leave regardless of the move) and I also happen to have an incredible job with an amazing boss. At the same time, we love New Jersey. Aaron and I are actually both from NJ and have family and friends there as well as pizza and bagels! Even before Aaron and got this job we have struggled to decide if we wanted to live in NJ or MA. Aaron applied to companies in both places and this is where we landed. So after 10 amazing years of living in Boston, NJ it is. Thus if you are a NJ/NYC blogger/tweeter you now understand why I have been stalking you more often lol. Please be my friend and run with me.
This move is a BIG change for us and is bitter sweet. I struggle all the time with leaving Boston, but know that I can be happy in both places. I also know that I will still come visit enough what with a wedding in January, spectating Boston, and some other must do races and events that I would never miss. I have told my friends that I will be happy to crash on their couch. I would say they think I am joking but they all know me way to well and realize that I am absolutely serious and are probably a little scared as we come as a package (I promise we are leaving Lee in NJ).
In the meantime, we are trying to get prepared. Our house has been on the market since July but no luck. We are also going to try to rent it in the interim. Anyone interested? Can’t hurt to ask Because of this we have not really done any serious packing eeek. We really don’t need much honestly. Most of our belongings will be headed to storage anyway as we are moving in with my father (who is graciously taking us in) until we can get settled, find the house we want, and sell our house up here. That meant this past holiday weekend, I had to finally clean out my childhood room as it sort of looks like it did when I left for college. My brother is also graciously letting Lee use his room. And well, Wubby, he could not be happier to finally have his own backyard (which we call his kingdom, he is currently digging three holes to China in the yard).
There is so much more to tell you all, but that seems like enough news for one day! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and holiday.
Tell me have you ever made a big move? Have you ever had to clean out your childhood room?
